How We Got Here
Harmonie Mediation B.V. started because we saw a real gap. Companies were losing talented people, productivity was suffering, and conflicts were escalating. We realized that with proper training and support, these situations could be prevented.
Back in 2009, we weren’t sure if organizations would invest in conflict resolution training. But we’d seen too many workplace disputes spiral unnecessarily. Teams weren’t equipped with the right tools to handle disagreements constructively. People didn’t understand their own conflict styles, let alone how to navigate others’ perspectives.
We started small—working with a handful of companies in Amsterdam and Utrecht. We developed training programs grounded in practical experience, not just theory. Every module we created came from real workplace situations we’d witnessed or helped resolve.
What surprised us was how quickly things shifted. Once people learned mediation fundamentals and conflict resolution strategies, they didn’t just become better communicators. They became more confident, more empathetic, more capable of handling tension with maturity. Teams that were fractured started functioning again.
